Susan Buckenmaier is a Cancer Research Training Award fellow in the Outcomes Research Branch of the Healthcare Delivery Research Program. She primarily assists in the development, management, and dissemination of research activities related to the SEER-MHOS (Medicare Health Outcomes Survey) and SEER-CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) initiatives, which link SEER cancer registry data with Medicare beneficiary survey data.
Susan received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018 and her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Dickinson College in 2016. Alongside her fellowship, Susan is proudly serving as a First Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves Medical Service Corps. With a diverse background, she aspires to continue improving science information flow and communication throughout her research endeavors. Susan’s research interests include: epidemiology, cancer and chronic disease prevention, patient and caregiver experience in healthcare, and cancer survivorship.
