Lianne Priede, MPH has joined HDRP as a Cancer Research Training Award Fellow through the Health Communications Internship Program. She obtained her B.S. in Biological Sciences and Master of Public Health from Florida State University (FSU). While in HDRP, Lianne will be working with the NCORP CCDR team.
As an undergraduate, Lianne was involved with the Women in Math, Science, and Engineering (WIMSE) living-learning community and society and helped to encourage young women to pursue degrees in STEM fields. She also participated in undergraduate research at FSU’s College of Medicine through the WIMSE Research Experience Program (REP). During graduate school, Lianne worked briefly in the lab setting and then for the Florida Department of Health Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) team. Prior to joining NCI, she completed a summer internship with the Miami-Dade County Department of Health Epidemiology, Disease Control, and Immunization Services (EDCIS) office. Lianne’s interests include cancer health disparities, contributing factors to cancer treatment and diagnosis among minority populations, and eliminating gaps in communication and knowledge for treatment options.
