Program Analyst, Outcomes Research Branch, Healthcare Delivery Research Program
Priyanga serves as Administrative Program Director for large coordinated research initiatives funded through cooperative agreements, such as the NCI Moonshot-funded IMPACT Consortium. In this role, he provides project monitoring, oversight, grant administration, and policy guidance. Priyanga also coordinates portfolio analysis projects for the Healthcare Delivery Research Program. Portfolio analysis is an approach used to identify, analyze, and communicate research and funding trends, to recognize scientific gaps, and to evaluate potential areas for stimulating research activity. Priyanga is also involved in internal budgeting and administrative processes.
Priyanga began his federal service in 2009 as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) and received the NIH Intern Innovator Award in 2011. After the two year PMF program, Priyanga converted to a position in the Office of the Director of the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences at the National Cancer Institute, where he was involved in a number of Division activities and initiatives, including grants policy and coordination, communication, strategic planning, contract management, staff training, and special projects.
Prior to federal service, Priyanga held Senior Research Administrator positions at The Ohio State University, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. In those positions, he was involved in the pre- and post-award management of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements; provided administrative, financial, and policy guidance to investigators and their staff; and acted as the institutional business official to federal, state, local, and non-profit funding agencies.
