Purpose

This webinar provides a brief overview of the SEER-CAHPS data resource, which is a linkage between the NCI’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program cancer registry data, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Medicare Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (Medicare CAHPS) patient experience surveys, and Medicare claims. The presenters describe a new measure included in SEER-CAHPS, the SEER-CAHPS Illness Burden Index (SCIBI), which provides a summary comorbidity score based on information from multiple clinical and patient-reported domains.

Intended Audience

This webinar is intended for all researchers interested in using the SEER-CAHPS data resource. No experience with SEER-CAHPS is necessary.
