Shiv Patel, PhD, MS

Shiv Patel is a rising junior at Florida State University studying Physiology. He will be joining the Healthcare Delivery Research Program as a Summer Fellow, working with Dr. Roxanne Jensen in the Outcomes Research Branch. His summer work will focus on AI placement in clinical workflows, with an emphasis on AI tools in clinical decision support.

Previously, Shiv has conducted research on LLM approaches for toxicity extraction/grading in radiation oncology at Mayo Clinic and outlier detection methods for ML-based auto contouring software in radiotherapy planning. His broader interests lie within oncology, clinical workflows, and responsible AI deployment.
