SEER-CAHPS Linked Data Resource

The SEER-CAHPS data resource is a resource for quality of cancer care research based on a linkage between the NCI's Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) cancer registry data and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Medicare Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) patient surveys.

To stay up to date on the data linkage, please join the SEER-CAHPS listservExternal Web Site Policy.

CMS Research Data Request & Access Policy

Per a new NCI-CMS agreement, by March 1, 2027, access to SEER-CMS data will shift from physical files to a federally managed secure enclave. The final cost structure is under review, but users will pay a periodic, person-specific "seat" fee for enclave access to offset IT and software costs. No new cloud storage will be approved during this transition, except for existing NCI/CMS-approved Data Management Plans (DMP) SAQ. Stay tuned for further updates.
