Lynn Adams, PhD
Lynn Adams, PhD is a Program Director in the Outcomes Research Branch (ORB) within the Healthcare Delivery Research Program (HDRP). Lynn’s role within ORB include programmatic oversight of extramural grants focused on patient-centered cancer care and outcomes, identification of scientific gaps in the NCI research grant portfolio, and developing novel funding opportunities.
Prior to joining HDRP, Lynn served as a Program Director at the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) from June 2014 to September 2022. While at NINR, Lynn oversaw the palliative care, pain, and Centers of Excellence portfolios. In this role, she identified scientific gaps in the research portfolio and developed novel funding opportunities that facilitated focused approaches to patient and family-centered research to inform healthcare interventions, practice, and policies concerning palliative care, pain, and symptom management. Lynn also served as a Senior Health Scientist Administrator at the Office of Research on Women’s Health where she served as the primary conduit of programmatic information to oversee the management, program objectives, and execution of biomedical sciences committees. Lynn has over 25 years of experience directing the development and implementation of research initiatives, program policy, guidance, and health science.
Lynn received her PhD in Human Nutrition from Purdue University, and a BS in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire.
