Joshua Medel, MS, BS
Joshua Medel is a Public Health Advisor in the Outcomes Research Branch (ORB) of the Healthcare Delivery Research Program (HDRP). Prior to joining ORB, Joshua was a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) designated to NCI. Most recently, he was on a six-month rotation in HDRP’s Office of the Associate Director, working on several portfolio analyses and other activities related to scientific planning and operations.
During the PMF program, Joshua had the opportunity to rotate with the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program, where he helped to develop evaluation metrics for investigator-initiated grants and reviewed informed consent data sharing compliance within several cohorts; the NIH Office of Budget and Finance, where he worked on NCI Gift Fund review processes and NICHD budget planning; and CCR’s Pediatric Oncology Branch, where he supported development of a framework for a comprehensive adolescent and young adult program.
Prior to joining NCI, Joshua worked as a nursing administrator for the El Paso Psychiatric Center and taught science courses at a local charter school. He holds a MS in Biomedical Sciences from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and a BS in Biology from the University of Texas at El Paso.
