HEROiC Membership
Membership in HEROiC is limited to government agencies, universities/colleges (and affiliated organizations), non-profit health care organizations, and other 501(c)(3) organizations or their corresponding non-U.S. organizations. For-profit organizations and 501(c)(4) organizations are not eligible for membership. Both U.S.-based and non-U.S.-based organizations can request membership in HEROIC. All organizations requesting HEROiC membership must be interested in cancer health economics research.
There are two tiers for HEROiC membership:
- Core members are limited to U.S. government agencies and U.S.-based non-profit research or patient advocacy organizations that are directly involved in the collection, analysis, use, and/or dissemination of data related to the economics of cancer or cancer care. Medical professional societies, educational institutions, health care systems/organizations, and similar organizations cannot be Core members but are eligible for Affiliate membership.
- Other eligible U.S. and non-U.S. organizations can request Affiliate core membership. Separate Affiliate membership categories are available for U.S. and non-U.S. organizations.
Please note that members in HEROiC must agree that if that they list HEROiC membership in any medium (including print or online), they must also state "Membership in HEROiC does not imply endorsement by the U.S. National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or other HEROiC members". HEROiC membership also does not give members the right to use the logo of the NCI, NIH, Dept. of Health and Human Services, or any other HEROiC member in any way without permission.
