Obtaining the SEER-MHOS Data
The SEER-MHOS data are available to outside investigators for research purposes. Given the sensitive nature of the data, NCI has put measures in place to protect confidentiality. To this end, there is an application process and fees associated with obtaining the data. During the application process, NCI reviews application packages to ensure feasibility and ability to maintain data security and participant confidentiality. There are also a small number restricted variables that can be obtained with special permission. Once applications are approved, investigators work with NCI’s biomedical computing contractor to obtain data extracts and data use agreements, which are active for five years.
Please be aware that in compliance with CMS, we cannot release SEER-MHOS data outside of the United States.
